What is FutureSkills?

Introduction to FutureSkills -

FutureSkills is an industry utility to get India accelerated on a journey to build its skills and become the global hub for talent in the emerging technologies. FutureSkills is the resource for the IT industry to enable discovery, continuous learning and deep skilling in emerging technologies. These emerging skills are-

  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Big Data Analytics
  • Cloud Computing
  • Virtual Reality
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Social and Mobile
  • Blockchain Technology
  • 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing
  • Robotic Process Automation
Introduction to Internet of Things (IoT)

The Internet of Things is the extension of internet connectivity into physical devices and everyday objects. The IoT based devices can communicate and interact with others over the internet, and they can be remotely monitored and controlled.
The definition of the IoT has evolved due to junction of multiple technologies, real-time analysis, machine learning, commodity sensor and embedded system and all other contribute to enabling the Internet of Things.

Big Data Analytics-

It is the process of collecting, organizing, and analyzing, large set of data to discover patterns and other useful information. Big Data Analytics can help organization to better understand the information contained within the data and will also help to identify the data that is most important to the business and future business decisions.

Cloud Computing-

Cloud computing means storing and accessing the data and programs over the internet instead of your computer disk. The cloud word is just a metaphor for the internet. It provides service at both public and private networks. several useful applications like email, customer relationship management etc. are run in cloud.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) -

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the branch of computer science that emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans. These artificial machine are used nowadays in many areas for problem solving and learning. Knowledge engineering is a core part of AI research. There are some applications of AI are-
Handwriting Recognition, Speech Recognition, Intelligent Robots. etc.

Virtual Reality (VR)-

Virtual reality is an interactive computer generated experience taking place within a simulated environment. VR technology allow users to enter the virtual world and interact with virtual things. Now it is not limited gaming but also used in other areas like education system, enablement of doctors to remotely handle surgeries and industrial manufacturing process and quality control etc. A person using virtual reality equipment is able to look around the artificial world, move around in it and interact with virtual features or items.

Social & Mobile-

Mobile devices and Social media are the part of industry evolution because it is the major source of meaningful information for companies that it contains large amount of data. Many web-based social sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. have created mobile for giving their user's instant and real-time access from anywhere they have access to the internet on mobile. Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in any IT industry or any business environment in which they create, share information and ideas in virtual community and network.

Blockchain Technology-

A blockchain is a growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked using cryptography. Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block a timestamp and transaction data.  It allow digital information to be distributed but not copied. A blockchain is in the simplest terms, a time-stamped series of immutable record of data that is managed by cluster of computers not owned by any single entity Each block of data are secured and bounded to each other using cryptographic principles. A blockchain carry no transactional cost. The blockchain is a simple and cleaver way of passing information from one system to another in a fully automated and safe manner.

3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing-

Additive manufacturing refers to a process by which 3D design data is used to build up a component in layers by depositing materials. 3D printing technology or additive manufacturing is a process of making 3 dimensional solid object from a digital file. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is created. A 3D printer is a type of industrial robot.

Robotics Process Automation (RPA)-

Robotics Process Automation allows the organizations to automate task just like a human being was doing them across application and system. Robotic automation interact with the existing IT architecture with no complex system integration required. RPA can be used to automate workflow, infrastructure, back office process which are labor intensive. The RPA is a software program which runs on an end user pc, laptop and mobile.
