Inserting & Editing Text on Slides –

To Add text in the slide, click on the slide and start entering text. After Entering Text in the Slides you can format your text by using formatting tools. You can also insert any object like Text, chart, picture, audio and video etc. There are following ways for inserting a slide in a Presentation

Method 1:- you can add new slides by using new slide from Standard toolbar.
Method 2:- Go to slide Menu-->select New Slide.
Method 3:- Press Ctrl +M shortcut Key.
Method 4:- Select slide from the slide pane & Press enter key. 

Understanding slides and slide layouts –

When you insert a new slide, it will usually have Placeholders. Placeholders can contain different types of objects including text, images, Charts, table and videos. Slides Have different layouts for Placeholders, depending on the type of information you want to include. Whenever you create a new slide, you’ll need to choose a slide layout that fits your content. 

Use a standard layout:  

When you open a blank Presentation in LibreOffice Impress the default layout title slides is appears, but there are other standard layouts that you can apply and use. 

Create a custom layout: 

If you do not find a standard layout that suits your needs, you can create a custom layout. One that is reusable and that specifies the number, size and location of placeholders, background content, theme colors, fonts and effects etc. You can also save custom layouts as parts of a templates. Types of text and object based placeholders that you can add to build your custom layout include-

Text 
Picture 
SmartArt
Charts
Tables
Media
Clipart
Movies
Sound

It is important to know how to insert and edit text on slide. 
Step 1: When you create a new presentation, the first slide to appear is a Title Slide. 
Step 2: It contains two placeholders: title placeholder and a sub title placeholder. 
Step 3: To add text, click within the placeholder and type text. 
Step 4: After entering the text if you want to alter anything, place the cursor and alter your text. 

To add a textbox: 

Text can be inserted into both placeholders and text boxes. Unlike placeholders, text boxes always stay in the same place, even if you change the theme. To add a text box in the presentation-
1- From the insert menu, select the text box. OR
2- Click hold, and drag to draw the text box on the slide. The text box will appear. To add text, simply click the text box and begin typing. 

Deleting Slide in a Presentation-

To delete a particular slide from the presentation follow these steps…
Select the slide you want to delete then go to slide menu>Delete Slide. Or
You can delete the selected slide by right click on mouse and then click on delete slide.
