Choosing a setup for Presentation–

Choosing a set up for presentation is subject matter of setting the nature of running and behaving of slides in the presentation. 

To access slide show setup options:

  1. Go to Slide Show>Slide Show Setting>Slide show setting dialog box will appear.
  2. Select the range, Presentation mode, Option the multiple displays. 
  3. To advance Slides automatically, you will need to customize the slide timing through Slide transitions on task pane

Running a Slide Show- 

To start the slide show you have to follow the steps in given below:
  1. Press F5 or
  2. Go to Slide Show menu>Start from First slide/Current slide
  3. You can customize your slide show presentation by using custom slide show. 
  4. In custom slide shows dialog box click on New>set your slide number. 
  5. If you want to start the presentation from any slide, go to the slide show menu and click on start from current slide or use Shortcut Key SHIFT+F5

Transition slide Timings-

Follow these steps to Transition & Slide Timings
  1. Select the desired slide from the Slide Navigation pane. Go to Slide Menu>Slide Transition. 
  2. On the task pane choose desired slide Transition. 
  3. You can modify transition (Variant, Duration, Sound).
  4. Click on apply to all. You can check by playing the slide transition by clicking on play button. 

Automating a slide show-

After completing your presentation you can configure your presentation for automating a slide show. For an automatic change to the next slide, you must assign a slide transition to each slide. 

Slide Transitions-

Slide transitions are the effects that take place between slides when slides change in a Presentation. Transition can add a professional look to a slide show. Transitions can be applied to individual slides or all the slides in a presentation. 

Adding Transitions on slide-

  1. In the sidebar, select the slide Transitions icon to open the slide Transitions section. 
  2. In the slides pane select the slide or slides to apply the transitions 
  3. In the sidebar select one of the available transitions when you click in a transition you preview the effect in impress workplace. 
  4. Modify the selected transition by changing the speed or adding a sound in the modify transition section. If you decide to play a sound during transitions select a sound from the sound list.
  5. If a sound is selected, the Loop until next sound option become active. Select this option to play the sound repeatedly until another sound starts. If there are no subsequent sound in your slide show, the selected sound will play continuously for the reminder of the show. 
  6. Select how to advance to the next slide. Manually (On mouse Click) or automatically (Automatically after).If you select and automatic advance, you can specify how long the slide remains visible before it automatically advance to the next slide. 
  7. If you want the transition to apply to all slides, click Apply to all slides. 
  8. If the automatic preview checkbox is marked, the effect of a selected transition is immediately displayed in the work area. You can replay the effect at any time by clicking play.

Removing Transition from slides-

To Remove a slide transition:-
  1. Select the slide from where you want to remove the transition.
  2. Select none transition in the slide transition pane. 

Some example of different Slide Transitions-

Box – Show Overview of current scene and rotate it as if it were inside a box to show next scene. 
Cut – Quick cut to next scene. 
Dissolve – Dissolve Previous scene to reveal next scene. 
Fade – Fade in our out. 
Ferris Wheel – Rotate out current scene followed by next scene in a circular motion like a Ferris wheel.

Animation Effects-

Slide animations are similar to transitions, but they are applied to individual elements in a single slide: title, chart, shape, and individual bullet point. Animation Effects are applied from normal view so that you can select individual objects on a single slide. 

Applying animation effects –

  1. Select the slide object (text, box, image) where you want to apply the animation effect
  2. In the sidebar, select custom animation icon to open the custom animation section. 
  3. Click add to open the custom animation dialog 
  4. Select the animation effect types from one of the tabbed pages of the custom animation dialog. More then one type of animation effect can be applied to an object. 
  5. As you add animation to objects they appear on the Custom Animation list in the sidebar. 
  6. Using the buttons you can add, delete, edit or move animations. 
  7. In the Effect Plus Section you can set how the animation will start. 
  8. On click- the animation does not start until you click the mouse. 
  9. With Previous- The animation runs at the same time as the previous animation. 
  10. After Previous- the animation runs as soon as the previous animation ends. 
  11. Select the Duration of the animation effect from the speed drop down list. 
  12. If required, select Automatically preview So you can check the animation effect on the object.
