Providing Aesthetics to slides & Printing-
While there are several layouts and design for the presentation slides, are there resources which address the issue of improving the aesthetics of the slides. Sometimes, we come across presentation which have right content but could not have better aesthetics.
Enhancing Text Presentation –
There are many features and commands you can use in Libreoffice impress to create visually appealing slides. Several features as image audio, video, media. You can also insert and modify a variety of shapes like rectangles, circles, lines, arrows, callouts, and stars.
Libreoffice impress allows you to add effects to the text inside of a text box. For the most part, the types of effects you can add are the same as the ones you can add to shapes and text boxes (shadow, bevel, etc.). However, with font Work, you can also Transform the text to give it a wavy, slanted or inflated look.
Adding Header, Footers and Notes –
On the insert menu, select Header & Footer. In the Header and footer dialog box, select the notes and Handouts tab. Select the check boxes for the items you want to include on printed Notes Pages and then type the text you want to appear at the top or bottom of each page of your notes.
To adding header, Footer and Notes, take a look at the below steps:
Step 1: Open the presentation on which you want to add any Header or Footer elements. Go to Insert>Header and Footer.
Step 2: You see a two tab slide and notes and Handouts where you can insert the text and data according to your requirement.
Step 3: you will see that the data and time check box is enable, but you can click Fixed or Variable Option and set your date format and language. To enable footer checkbox you can also insert footer text.
Step 4: Notes and Handouts tab within Header and Footer dialog box. You can insert header and footer text in text box.
Step 5: Select this Check box to make the date appear on your Handouts and Notes Pages.
Step 6: you should click on check box to enable the page number to be visible on your Notes and Handouts Pages.
Step 7: Select this Check box to make Header visible on the Notes and Handouts page in your Presentation. Additionally, when this check box is selected, the box below get activated. Where you can enter the content of the Header.
Step 8: This Check box when selected, makes the Footer Visible on Notes and Handout pages in your presentation. Additionally, when this Check box is selected, the box below gets activated. Where you can enter the content of the footer. Typically, users like to type in stuff like confidential, Draft, etc. In this Area, or even copyright notices.
Step 9: you can similarly add and edit Header and Footers in your slides.
Step 10: you should click on Apply to all button to insert header, footer and notes in your Presentation.
Printing Slides and Handouts –
You can Print your entire Presentation-the slides, outline, notes pages and audience handouts- in color, grayscale or pure black and white. You can also print specific slides, handouts, notes pages or outline Pages.
To Print a Slide you have to follow the steps given here:
Printing of slides contain outline and slide layout and note pages area to be Printed.
Step 1: Click on the File menu.
Step 2: Select Print then Print dialog box will appear on your screen. In this dialog box, select General tab-->select the printer, Range and Copies (All slides/Slides/Selection/Print in Revere Page order).
Step 3: In Print Dialog Box, Select LibreOffice Impress tab-->select document Type (slide, Handouts, Notes, Outline).
Step 4: You can set number of copies from General tab.
Step 5: Click on OK Button to print your slides and Handouts.
